Top CT Wedding DJ
J&S Entertainment was on-hand to DJ this fun wedding at the Connecticut River Museum in Essex.
Is my date available?

We sure hope so! We love to work with new clients. Contact us today to inquire about having us DJ your event.

How long have you been in business?

J&S Entertainment has been in continual operation, providing DJ and MC services at weddings, parties and special events since 1992!

How Many CT Weddings do you DJ per year?

Here in New England, the wedding season starts ramping up in May. We are typically producing an event every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until the season starts to slow down in October. Of course December and January weddings have been gaining in popularity over the past few years.

How many events do you DJ per day?

Your wedding DJ will only perform at your wedding on that day which will be entirely dedicated to the success of your event!

Have you performed at my wedding venue before?

In nearly 30 years, we’ve worked in most of the wedding venues throughout the state. In most situations where we’re asked to be the disc jockey in a venue we haven’t yet visited, we’ll usually meet with you and the banquet manager for a site survey. During that visit, we’ll learn where the setup location is, how to load and unload efficiently, access to power and discuss the event flow while at the location. We’re pretty thorough.

Can you provide any references?

Absolutely! We invite you to read through all of our five star reviews on Wedding Wire, The Knot and Facebook but we can also provide a list of contacts from the last few events we’ve produced so you can reach out for yourself.

Do you have a video or samples of your performance?

Yes! Use the links on the bottom of the page and head on over to our Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo and YouTube pages to check us out during performances.

How extensive is your disc jockey music library?

Our Music library is HUGE!!! We inventory over 160,000 pure digital mp3 tracks that we actually own! Our music is all licensed from DJ digital music pools and updated weekly. We have tracks from the 30’s and 40’s to the hottest tracks charting today spanning many different genre’s.

Will my DJ take a break during a party or wedding?

We’ll step aside from our rig momentarily if nature calls but will do so only after we’re sure we won’t be needed for the next minute or two. During events where dinner is served and we’re invited to eat, we’ll do so quickly and be back at our station before anyone notices we were gone.

Do you perform the Emcee (MC) duties and handle all of the announcements?

Yes. We handle all announcements in a classy and tasteful manner. We engage with your guests during all of the planned moments and on an as needed basis. We’re never overbearing on the microphone.

Do you take requests from our guests.

Yes, we’ll always “entertain” requests with a courteous response to your guests. It often goes something like this:
“Thanks for your request! I’ll check to see if I have it and where I can fit it into the program.” We’ll then decide if it’s appropriate to play and the best time to play it. If a request comes from you, you can be sure it’ll be played within the next song or two 🙂

Can we submit requests ahead of time? Must play and do not play?

Of course! We’re happy to work your requests into the part and will always honor your do not play list.

Do you provide a written contract?

YES! Contracts protect both parties. After you’ve received your proposal and you’ve decided on your package and any options you’d like to add, we’ll send you a contract digitally through Adobe Document Sign and we’ll both have a digital record of it.

Do you require a deposit? What if we have to cancel? Do you accept a payment plan?

Yes, we do require a small deposit to reserve your date. The deposit is typically $500.00 and will be deducted from your total balance due. Should you need to cancel, we will keep your deposit in our escrow account for up to one year and apply it to your rescheduled date. After you’ve made your deposit, you are welcome to make payments that will all be applied toward your final balance.

What is your refund and cancellation policy?

Once a deposit is paid on the event, that is non-refundable but will be applied to any other event you book within one year. If you need to cancel an event altogether within 60 days of the performance and it’s on a Friday or Saturday between May and November, the balance is due in full. We have reserved that date for you and likely passed on several other clients who wanted that date. We will do our best to fill that opening and if we do, we will offer you a refund.

Are you Insured and can you provide a COI to our wedding venue?

Yes we are insured by one of the largest entertainment insurance agencies in the country through our partnership with the American DJ Association. Our liability coverage is $2mil and we’re happy to provide a COI to the venue.

Do you have backup equipment?

Yes, we always carry backup equipment. We actually have three layers of protection should an unforeseen circumstance happen.

Do you set up a sign or banner with your equipment?

Absolutely not. We never display any advertising of any kind.

What time will you arrive and depart?

Depending on the complexity of the setup, we are typically on-site two hours before the event and we can generally break down and completely vacate a venue in 45 minutes to an hour.

How do you dress? What will you wear at our wedding?

We always dress to match the style of the event. For black tie and gala affairs, we’ll wear a tux. For most weddings and private parties, we’ll wear a suit and tie. Having a casual affair on the beach? Hey we even have Hawaiian shirts.

Will you have questions for us?

Of course! In addition to all of the event details, we’ll want to get to know you, your style, vibe, etc. We’ll match the style of your event seamlessly.
