• Initial Contact and Planning: 4-6 hours - From the moment you connect with us, we begin understanding your unique wishes and tailoring the experience to your dream wedding. Extensive communication ensures every detail is meticulously planned.  This includes the initial consult, planning sessions leading up to the big day, final planning session and often times a site survey.
• Pre-Show Preparation: 2~4 hours. This involves hours of music curation, ensuring a diverse and personalized playlist that caters to all age groups and tastes. Often times, clients ask for custom tracks for key moment events that need to be edited in a digital audio workstation.  Additionally, we rigorously test our equipment, guaranteeing seamless execution on your special day.
• Logistics and Setup: ~2 hours. Our team meticulously loads and transports an extensive sound system and lighting equipment, ensuring a professional and visually captivating atmosphere.
• The Big Day: ~8 hours. We're generally on-site at least two hours prior to the event for load-in, setup, test and sound check before most of your guests have even left home.  Add 1-2 hours to that time if we're producing your ceremony..  During the 5-6 hour event, our experienced DJ reads the room, adapting the music based on the energy and flow of the celebration. This requires constant attentiveness and skilled improvisation.
• Post-Show: ~2 hours. Even after the last song fades, our work isn't done. We efficiently dismantle and transport all equipment, ensuring a smooth post-event process.  We often do a debrief with the team and the client to make certain we did the best job possible and that we exceeded the client expectation.

The wedding DJ landscape encompasses a wide range of experience and service levels. While J&S Entertainment falls within the high-end of the mid-tier, it's important to acknowledge that some DJs may offer lower rates. This can sometimes be due to factors like the part-time nature of their services, lower or limited demand for their services, limited investment in primary and/or backup equipment and personnel, time spent during preparation as well as any number of other factors.  Is there backup staff at-the-ready, is there backup equipment on-site? No-one is immune to the Flu and even the most expensive soundboards and laptops can fail.

While budget is undoubtedly a crucial consideration, it's essential to remember that your wedding DJ plays a pivotal role in setting the tone and ensuring a smooth celebration. When entrusting such a significant aspect of your special day, experience, professionalism, and preparedness can be invaluable.  Do you really want to hire a DJ that loads his or her gear a couple of hours before your event, shows up and hopes everything goes as planned?  This happens far more often than you may realize.
