November 30, 2015Top Questions to ask your CT Wedding DJ before signing the contract.
Here at J&S Entertainment Co., we meet with plenty of brides and grooms who have a prepared list of questions to ask. We took to the internet to find the best list we could. Of all of the lists we looked at some of the questions seemed pretty obvious such as:
- Do you have a DJ available for my wedding day?
- How long has J&S Entertainment been in business?
- What makes J&S Entertainment Co. Different from other wedding DJs in Connecticut?
While these are pretty standard questions, some that we found interesting and often overlooked are:
- How extensive is your music library or the wedding DJs knowledge of that library?
- What is the wedding DJs style for making announcements and introductions?
- How will our wedding DJ motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?
We found great lists on The Knot, Wedding Wire. We really like the list on Brides.com but one of the most important sets of questions we saw is posted on the American DJ Association website.
Their suggested list for brides to ask their prospective wedding DJ is as follows:
- Have you commited yourself to follow the ADJA Code of Professional Conduct?
- Are you insured? Can you supply me with proof of liability?
- Will you be willing to play requests and discuss music ahead of time?
- Do you use Professional Equipment?
- Do you provide backup equipment at my event?
- Does the Disc Jockey know the proper etiquette for your type of party?
- How much time do you allow for set-up?
- Do you provide a written contract?
- Will you be suitably dressed for our occasion?
- Do you belong to a professional organization or trade group?
In an upcoming post, we’ll be compiling the ultimate list along with our answers to all of these questions. Stay Tuned!
